Anthropic released Claude Code v2.1.310, a tooling update that introduces the Monitor tool to track MCP plugin monitors on Amazon Bedrock, Google Vertex, and Foundry, as well as when telemetry or nonessential traffic is disabled. The changelog notes that long foreground sleeps are now blocked in these contexts.
The update addresses failures in requests routed through gateways that reject the 'effort-2025-11-24 beta' value or mid-conversation system messages. Claude Code now retries requests without these values when such rejections occur.
Background cleanup no longer deletes recent files, such as pasted images, when 'cleanupPeriodDays' is set to a very large value. Compaction after a 'Prompt is too long' error has also been fixed to prevent excessive retention of dense conversation text, which could cause subsequent requests to fail.
Permission prompts now correctly display where a symbolic link leads, and auto-continue timeouts for questions no longer fire prematurely after external editors close. Memory use in non-interactive sessions (e.g., those using the '-p' flag or Agent SDK) has been improved during compaction when transcript files are very large.
On Windows, PreToolUse and PermissionRequest hooks no longer allow tool calls through when Git Bash is missing and the hook’s command consists only of quoted strings, such as a quoted path.
The update includes platform-specific improvements: Linux now names Ubuntu’s AppArmor restriction on user namespaces in sandbox-related errors and how to lift it; the Image mod now renders correctly in tmux with 'allow-passthrough' and 'focus-events' enabled in supported terminals.
Enterprise features in v2.1.310 include the addition of Claude Code cloud sessions and Remote Control permissions to custom roles, allowing Owners to control access by role. A 'Choose file' button was added to load a cloud environment’s setup script from a file, and failed saves or archives in the cloud environment edit dialog now display errors within the dialog.
Additional fixes target the VS Code extension and cloud sessions: pressing Enter on the plan review card’s 'Send feedback and keep planning' button no longer approves the plan; the panel no longer shows 'Something went wrong' after 'Switch branch & continue' in cloud sessions opened from Session history’s Web tab.
Claude Tag, the admin interface, received fixes for treating bold, italic, or strikethrough '!commands' as ordinary messages, resolving issues with '!restart' and '!help'. Admin channel and workspace pages no longer display load errors when background bundle list refreshes fail, and the spend limits page no longer reports mismatched filters while channel names load.
The Code Review admin section now retries the first load and displays a 'Try again' banner if the repository list refresh fails, preventing the section from hiding its repositories and switches.
