TL;DR
  • Amazon SageMaker Feature Store now supports BatchWriteRecord to write up to 25 records across multiple feature groups in a single call.
  • A new ListRecords API enumerates record identifiers within a feature group to help recover lost identifiers.
  • The changes target high-throughput pipelines and In-Memory storage tier limitations.

Amazon SageMaker Feature Store added two new APIs—BatchWriteRecord and ListRecords—to address operational gaps in high-throughput pipelines and the In-Memory storage tier.

BatchWriteRecord allows writing up to 25 records across multiple feature groups in a single API call, reducing connection overhead compared to looping PutRecord calls. Teams processing high-throughput feature pipelines, such as a fraud-detection system ingesting 10,000 records per second across five feature groups, previously needed 50,000 individual PutRecord calls per second to keep features current.

ListRecords enables enumeration of record identifiers within a feature group, addressing a gap where teams using the In-Memory storage tier had no way to browse or recover lost record identifiers. Without this capability, lost identifiers could lead to permanently unrecoverable records due to the lack of an offline store or query mechanism for the In-Memory tier.
