TL;DR
  • AI Mode in Google Search now supports flight price tracking with alerts across 180+ countries.
  • Users can view flight and hotel costs in points or miles with support for multiple airline and hotel loyalty programs.
  • Hotel booking is now possible directly in AI Mode with partners including Booking.com, Expedia, Hilton, and Marriott.
  • Features are rolling out globally with some limitations in EEA countries and territories.

Google is adding three new features to AI Mode in Search to streamline travel planning and booking. Users can now ask AI Mode to track flight prices for specific routes and dates, receiving email alerts if prices change. The feature covers more than 300 partner airlines and travel sites and is available in over 180 countries and territories, excluding EEA countries and territories.

AI Mode can also display flight and hotel costs in points or miles for supported loyalty programs. Users can query routes and dates while specifying a rewards program, such as American Airlines AAdvantage or Hilton Honors, and see the required points or miles for matching options. Initial support includes Alaska Airlines/Hawaiian Airlines, American Airlines, Choice Hotels International, Hilton, and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, with additional programs like Accor, Hyatt, and Lufthansa Group to be added in the coming weeks.

Hotel booking is now possible directly within AI Mode. Users can receive a visual list of hotel options with guest reviews and key comparison factors, then proceed to booking via "Continue on Google" with integrated partners. The merchant of record remains the hotel or booking platform, and Google Pay handles payment. The feature is rolling out in the U.S. in English, with additional partners including Booking.com, Expedia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International, Priceline, Trip.com, and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
