Anthropic has entered a $10 billion, six-year cloud compute agreement with AI startup Volta, Bloomberg reported. The deal will provide Anthropic with dedicated capacity from a new facility in Norway, designed to deliver 133 megawatts of power.

Volta’s facility will be powered by Nvidia’s Vera Rubin systems, the chipmaker’s next-generation AI chip architecture. Volta is part of Nvidia’s Cloud Partner program, which includes AI cloud providers using Nvidia GPUs in their data centers.

Bitdeer, a crypto-mining company, will co-develop the Norwegian data center to help meet the compute requirements of the agreement. The facility’s location and power capacity were specified in reports about the deal.

Anthropic has pursued multiple compute partnerships in recent months, including agreements with SpaceX and Amazon, as it seeks to rapidly expand its infrastructure amid intense competition with other AI labs.
