Google Search’s AI Mode adds planning and design tools to help users spend more time offline

Google’s AI Mode in Search now includes tools designed to help users spend more time engaging in offline activities. The features aim to simplify planning and preparation for real-world experiences by leveraging AI-driven search and connected app integrations.

One capability allows users to find local classes that fit their schedules. By connecting Google Calendar, AI Mode can suggest beginner-friendly lessons or clinics tailored to the user’s availability. For example, a user searching for cooking classes will receive recommendations aligned with their existing schedule, provided they have opted into calendar integration.

The AI Mode also facilitates shopping for specific gear by enabling product searches with filters such as affordability and features like ankle support for hiking boots. Users can further refine searches to check local stock availability or request store calls to confirm product availability in nearby locations.

For hobbyists, Canvas within AI Mode lets users create strategy guides for games like chess. A user can prompt AI Mode to generate a guide with easy-to-remember strategies or even build a simulation to practice against a computer opponent.

AI Mode extends to event planning by helping users find and book tickets for live events such as concerts or sports. Users can input preferences like budget and number of tickets, and AI Mode will curate a list of options for final booking on preferred platforms.

Design tools are also integrated, allowing users to create custom dinner party invites using connected apps like Canva. A user can generate a modern minimalistic flyer for an upcoming party directly within Search, streamlining the design process without leaving the search interface.
