Adobe rolls out AI assistants for Photoshop, Premiere, and other Creative Cloud apps in public beta

Adobe began rolling out public betas of AI assistants for its flagship Creative Cloud applications, including Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, InDesign, and Frame.io. Each assistant is designed to operate as a domain-specific agent within its host app, according to Adobe’s announcement.

The Premiere assistant can reorganize video timelines, rename batches of clips based on footage content, and add markers to a project timeline using keywords from recorded speech. Adobe describes this as automating "the tedious set-up work" within the Project panel and Timeline.

In Photoshop, the assistant enables prompt-based editing such as organizing layers, switching backgrounds, and resizing assets for different platforms. Adobe previously introduced a Firefly-based assistant for web and mobile versions of Photoshop earlier in the year.

Illustrator’s assistant supports multi-step production tasks like flagging color mode errors, reorganizing layers, and generating multiple design file versions from spreadsheets or documents.

InDesign’s assistant applies print-readiness checks and propagates copy and styling updates across page layouts when opening a PDF or template. Frame.io’s assistant surfaces revision feedback, organizes shoot assets, generates B-roll footage, and assists with creative direction.

Adobe’s creativity head David Wadhwani framed the assistants as enabling creators to "set the vision, apply their taste, and make the calls that only they can" while delegating execution to the AI agent.
