Google integrates Gemini Intelligence and Notebook into Samsung Galaxy devices

Google announced at Galaxy Unpacked 2026 that Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Fold8 and Flip8 series will feature Gemini Intelligence, which automates daily tasks across more than 40 popular apps. The capability, previously in beta for a limited set of apps, now supports a broader range of services, including shopping, reservations, travel bookings, and event ticketing.

On the Galaxy Z Flip8, users can initiate task automation from the Flex Window by long-pressing the power button. The system can parse on-screen content and complex images as prompts, enabling users to delegate tasks by showing Gemini a shopping list or inspiration photo. Progress updates are displayed in real time, and users can pause or adjust tasks before final confirmation.

Gemini Notebook, formerly known as NotebookLM, is preinstalled on the new foldables. The app provides a side-by-side workspace where users can drag and drop photos, documents, whiteboard images, and voice recordings to synthesize research. A chat function allows users to query their sources or generate custom outputs like slide decks or quizzes.

Gemini assistance will also be available on the Galaxy Watch 9, enabling users to access AI features directly from their wrist. Additionally, Google previewed intelligent eyewear with hands-free gesture controls, slated for release in the fall. The eyewear is positioned as a hands-free interface for Gemini, though specific features or partners were not detailed in the announcement.
