Microsoft confirms AI ‘super app’ unifying Copilot chat, coding, and agentic features

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella confirmed the company is developing an AI-focused ‘super app’ that merges Copilot’s chat, coding, and agentic capabilities into a single application. During an earnings call on Wednesday, Nadella said the app will span both consumer and commercial experiences when it launches this year.

Nadella described Copilot’s evolution as moving “rapidly from chat to Cowork to Autopilots,” and noted that this quarter the company is bringing these experiences together, including code, into one super app. He called it “a major step forward” and said more details would be shared soon.

The confirmation follows reporting from Fortune that Microsoft is working on a super app integrating the Copilot chatbot, GitHub Copilot coding assistant, Copilot Cowork, and the agentic Autopilot system. Microsoft’s revenue for the past quarter reached $90 billion, with the company attributing growth to its AI and cloud businesses.
