Deezer reported that AI-generated tracks surpassed 50% of daily uploads in June 2026, with an average of 90,000 such tracks uploaded per day. The company has tracked this figure since January 2025, when AI tracks represented about 10% of daily uploads at roughly 10,000 tracks per day. By April 2025, the daily volume had doubled to 20,000 tracks (18% of uploads), and it continued climbing through September 2025 (30,000 tracks, 28%), November 2025 (50,000 tracks, 34%), January 2026 (60,000 tracks, 39%), and April 2026 (75,000 tracks, 44%).
In response, Deezer announced it will remove AI-generated tracks that have not been streamed in the past six months or are involved in fraudulent streams designed to inflate revenue. Deezer CEO Alexis Lanternier stated the company has been addressing fraud and payment dilution linked to AI music for nearly two years and is escalating enforcement as AI uploads exceed half of daily content.
The company began labeling AI music on its platform last year and claims its detection technology can identify tracks produced with models from Suno and Udio, two AI-music startups currently facing copyright lawsuits. Earlier in 2026, Deezer made its detection technology available to other platforms, though it did not specify whether major services have adopted the tool. Last month, it also released a tool to scan Apple Music and Spotify playlists for AI-generated tracks.
