Perplexity launches Personal Computer for Windows as a locally run AI agent system

Perplexity announced the availability of Personal Computer for Windows, a locally run AI agent system designed to operate within the Windows environment. The company describes it as a general-purpose digital worker capable of accessing local files and applications to perform tasks such as creating documents and updating spreadsheets.

The Windows version follows the Mac release in April and integrates with Microsoft 365 apps and Teams, which Perplexity added in May. Perplexity says the tool is built to address enterprise workflows that typically occur locally on Windows devices and have been difficult for AI systems to reach.

Personal Computer for Windows is launching to paying Max and Enterprise Max subscribers, with subscription tiers starting from $200 per month. Perplexity states the tool does not train on company data and includes user notifications before sensitive actions like sending emails or deleting files.
